Burmese rubies are highly sought after for their rich red color, excellent transparency and fine quality, and have a reputation for being some of the most desirable rubies available.

The Mogok region of Upper Myanmar is considered the primary source of Burmese rubies, and has been mined for centuries. Rubies from this region are known for their rich, deep red color and high transparency, often referred to as "Pigeon Blood" red and is considered the most desirable color.

Burmese rubies are also found in other areas in the country like in the area of Mong Hsu, it produces rubies that have a darker red color.

Standard Quality: Most Burmese rubies average around $10,000 per carat. This price can fluctuate based on the stone's specific characteristics and market demand.

High-Quality Stones: Exceptional Burmese rubies, particularly those with the coveted "pigeon blood" color and no indications of heating, can command prices starting at $20,000 for smaller stones (around 1.5 carats) and can go significantly higher for larger sizes.
